Title : Senior print tutor/ freelance textile artist
My research involves practical research into the effect on males and females, of and responses to colour. Reaction to intensity of colour and colour combinations are of particular interest.
I am producing physical pieces in the form of painted stripes in chosen colours and width combinations. These experiments are posted on the web for response.These trials are targeted to appeal/or to be rejected by each gender.
The responses are gathered from the posted images.
Pieces, which respond to these findings, are then produced and posted to illicit further reflection and development.
This research will eventually widen to explore further the effects of the 'successful' conclusions on sub divided gender groups i.e. elderly, teen, etc...
My research will be shared with textile design students when I lecture on the use, effect and effectiveness of colour.
