Statement and research interests : I am a Ph.D student at Gjøvik University College, Norway and associated with the colour lab here since March, 2009. My main research belongs to Colour and Image Technology in a broad sense. To be specific, I am currently working on the perceptual colour difference metric. The goal of this work is to find out a methodology which can illustrate the perceptual colour difference in quantitative terms. This research is based on geometrical measurement which includes the Riemannian space and variational calculus. In the past, I was also involved in instrumental colour measurement in terms of the Reflectance and Transmittance at the University of Joensuu, Finland. I worked on real industrial samples while pursuing my Masters Degree there. Finally, I would like to work on colour difference metrics and instrumental colour measurement. Expertise / background : I would prefer to speak of myself as an IT Engineer having a colour and image technology background. In this sense, it is correct to say that I have earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Rajshai University of Technology, Bangladesh and my Masters Degree in Information Technology, with specialization in the field of colour and image technology from the University of Joensuu , Finland. Currently, as I mentioned earlier , I am undertaking a Ph.D. In regards to the work experience, I have worked as a trainee researcher at Infotonics Center at the University of Joensuu. In my home country, I have worked as a Lecturer at the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University. Example papers : Least square technique for the colour reproduction of semitransparent material. Paper accepted for the Gjøvik symposium 2009. Note : I have not mentioned the articles(written about electronics and signal processing). Languages : English, Nepali, Finnish (a little), Bengali email : dibakar.pant@hig.no pdibakar@gmail.com back to list |
