Title : Architect/Conservation Architect
Statement and research interests:
I am an Architect by profession and I own a medium sized Architecture firm PREETHI ARCHITECTS in Bangalore, India, established in 2000, we are Professional, creative & dynamic architectural & Interior design Company with multifaceted approach & innovative design ideas. My vision about Architecture is to create lively, diverse, and safe cities and neighborhoods ,to improve people's lives - rather than focusing on design aesthetics alone and also to consider, develop, and accentuate amenities
I am currently pursuing my Doctorate (5years) in Heritage Preservation and Conservation in Ecole des Mines and Jean Monnet university, France.

My research work is about Preserving the heritage buildings/cities/Villages and working on the development of the cities/villages which are deemed to have historical importance and have been forgotten in due course of time.

I am presently working with the Ministry of culture and communication, department of Architecture and heritage, France in the areas of planning and development projects affecting towns or areas of special heritage or landscape interest. Monitoring the preparation of the PSMV and projects under the responsibility of protected areas while working with the heritage and conservation Architects on the Construction documents for rehabilitation and restoration projects.

I am actively engaged in working on the methods of training architects on how to protect heritage and with French tools related to protection and management of urban architectural heritage and landscape.

My stage report and account of my meetings with several heads of departmental services of the architecture and heritage offices in France encouraged me to initiate a heritage training program with one of our Engineering colleges in Bangalore, India, which would lead to a specific diploma, thus leading to a Franco-Indian co-operation.

Research interests:
To identify Heritage cities and develop a ‘Protected Zone’ program in India which is a system, based on heritage site recommendations further to investigations and negotiations with the Communes/states concerned, resulting in the creation of architectural, urban and heritage landscape protection zones which are in time, to replace the somewhat patchy management of Historic Monuments and their surroundings in towns.
